quartet with two drum sets

The Arará quartet focuses on improvised music, often taking impulses from members own field recordings and found mythologic stories. The first album Lumaaq was inspired by the Greenland Inuit myths and language. The material for a second release Elbam drew from collages of field recordings from different corners of India ranging from sounds of southern Irula tribal rituals to northern Himalayan cow-herders.
