math-ethno-core quintet
Talaqpo´s original music draws inspiration primarily from my personal field research on folk music in different countries as well as from contemporary music, free improvisation, jazz, world music, experimental music, minimalism, musique concréte and field recordings. While the first two albums are inspired by Tajik, Balkan and African languages and music, the last one ToTribes is influenced by tribal folk music and classical Carnatic music from India. Nowadays the band plays new compositions drawing from my travels in Africa.
As a quartet Talaqpo recorded three albums (Jaghnobiology, Haroka, ToTribes). A brand new album featuring Vojtěch Procházka on electric organ and Luan Gonçalves on bass will be released in February 2022.
