binaural composition for voice, two violins and double bass
The composition thread explores the extension of the voice into string instruments using a binaural microphone with a dummy head. Imaginary threads stretch between voice and the musicians. The degree of tension is reflected in the resulting sound. Just like a string must be tightened enough to vibrate, musicians attention must be strained to keep the imaginary threads trembling. Every small movement in the voice is reflected in the sound produced by the strings.
The piece was premiered at Skrznaskrz live concert at Czech radio on 27th June 2021
